What can I expect at your shop?
At the time of your appointment, your groomer will greet you and your pup, discuss your desired service, and provide you with an estimated time until pickup. Once the service is complete, you will be sent a text to notify you. You can pay at pickup with cash or card, or prior to pickup via a seccure text link directly from your phone (by request only).
What will my pup’s experience be?
All appointments are scheduled as express grooms, which means that your groomer will work one-on-one with your pup/s until the appointment is completed. Your pup’s comfort and happiness is a priority throughout the grooming process. If your pup is not comfortable with something, your groomer will do their best to keep them safe and finish the grooming quickly, and will provide feedback at pickup for tips to help your pup gain confidence with the process.
Are nails included?
Yes! All full-service appointments include a bath, hand blow dry, brush out, ear cleaning, and nail trimming. We also offer tooth brushing and a hydrating paw balm for an additional fee. However, we do not offer anal gland expression as it is best to have this procedure performed by a veterinarian.
My puppy has never been groomed before! Help?
Several of our groomers including Dana and Taylor specialize in first-puppy grooms and will ensure that your newest family member has a great start to grooming. During the appointment, your groomer will be patient, and gentle, and provide plenty of praise and excitement. You can rest assured that your puppy is in great hands.
My dog is too old/large/anxious to be done straight through. Can you accommodate me?
We have a team of groomers who work together when needed to support dogs of all sizes, ages, and most demeanors. Because of our one-on-one scheduling style we may block out additional time for pups needing it.
The last groomer shaved my dog and I didn’t like that. Will you shave them too?
The answer to this question is dependent on your dog’s current coat condition. We can leave your pup fluffy if their coat is not matted. However, if a fine-toothed metal comb will not run through the coat entirely, we will have to trim them short enough to get safely between skin and matting. Should your dog need to be cut shorter than you prefer, we will always communicate with you ahead of time, as well as offer tips and tricks for proper brushing at home, as well as a suggested schedule based on your individual dog's and family's needs. This way we can achieve the look you want at a future appointment.
What is your availability?
To ensure that you can get an appointment with your preferred groomer at a date that's most conveneint to you, we recommend booking your next 1-2 appointments at pickup. However, if that's not viable for you then calling with a week or two heads up will typically work to fit you in if you're a little flexible on day/time. Weekends and evenings do tend to fill fast so if you're hoping for an after hours spot, please let us know as early as possible.
Do you use muzzles?
Our groomers have extensive experience dealing with difficult dogs, so we can often groom even the most challenging pups without a muzzle. However, if the dog poses a danger to the groomer or to themselves during the appointment, we will use a muzzle to ensure everyone’s safety. We use basket style muzzles which still allow the dog to pant and regulate their temperature, and strive to get through the appointment as quickly as safely possible to reduce stress on your pet.
Can I stay and watch?
For the safety and comfort of all dogs in the shop, including your pup, we kindly request that you wait outside the building until your appointment is finished. Having customers in the lobby can be distracting and stressful for the dogs. The exception to this policy is for nail trim-only appointments, which typically take only a few minutes to complete.
Why is my price different from what I was quoted?
Providing accurate estimates before your appointment can be challenging, especially over the phone. We do our best to provide an accurate estimate, but many factors can affect how the appointment will go, such as your pup’s behavior. Therefore, please note that any estimates provided prior to service may not be entirely accurate. If the price is going to vary widely from what you were told, we will give you a heads up as soon as we are able.
How often should I schedule my dog?
Most dogs do best on a 4-6 week grooming schedule, and ideally nails should be done monthly. Some dogs may need to be seen sooner depending on their specific needs, and depending on your pup and your family's ability to mantain coat at home, some are able to stretch longer between appointments as well.
